About Mrs. Ruff

Growing up, I always knew I wanted to be a teacher. Both of my parents were teachers.. My father was a special education teacher and my mother was an art teacher. I loved going to school with them and interacting with their students. My favorite thing to do growing up was to create art, so I knew becoming an art teacher was going to be the job of my dreams!

After I graduated from the University of New Mexico, I was lucky enough to find District 64. I feel so fortunate to teach in a district where the students are kind and excited to learn and the parents are so supportive of the arts! I love waking up to come to work every day because it is so amazing to see over 600 students smile so big when they are creating art each week!

Family is very important to me! Mr. Ruff and I have a daughter, Kiarra, a dog Swayze, a bunny Opal, many fish, and a little girl on the way :) My students are like family to me too. Having each child for 6 years is incredible and I love watching them grow and learn new things. Thank you for sharing your child with me each day!
